Idol This Week

The general consensus seems to be that there is no runaway favorite "yet" on the show. I for one, think that it is a good thing because I'm pretty sure that a couple of the kids will begin to bloom further into the competition than others, and that's when the race will truly begin.

One of the aspects of the show that sometimes goes unappreciated is the rate at which the kids evolve from being local amateurs to actual professional entertainers. That's the part of the show that excites me. I like to see the kids develop as Byrd takes them through the obstacle courses one-by-one, night after night.

So look forward to some surprise developments from "you never know who"!

Caribana Plus

Other than my love for Roti, my Trinidadian heritage is most evident on Caribana weekend. In addition to being one of the biggest festivals in the world, it is my opportunity to "get on bad" as we say back home.

Soca is the most festive music in the world and as a result is very infectious, especially when you have hundreds of thousands of people all focused on having a good time.

On Saturday Jake and I partied on the first ever CTV Caribana Float. One of my oldest buddies "DJ Nigel B" along with "DJ Riyad" provided the music and all we had to do was "dance 'n wave".

On Saturday night, I went to the Rocafella Block Party that was hosted by Jay-Z. It wasn't as well attendied as I thought it would be, but it livened up big time when Rihanna, Jay-Z himself and T-dot's own Kardinall took the stage.

The highlight of the weekend for me was the Flow Boat Cruise "Flowtin' on de Water" a concept which I created in my early days at FLOW but never had the opportunity to attend because I was always promoting my own events as well, which I had to oversee.

My younger brother Francisco and I went together and literally rocked the boat all night long!
