Season IV Auditions and More!
I'm in balmy Regina, Saskatchewan getting ready for my morning workout.
I'm here in advance of the Regina auditions taking place on Monday to do what we call "Media Idol", which is a really cool thing that we're doing to keep the media engaged in the show and have them experience what its like for the kids who put their dreams on the line to become the next Canadian Idol.
Regina is the 3rd city on the tour so it's still early but Edmonton and Vancouver had amazing turnouts and I think I've seen two potential Top 10 contenders. A girl in Edmonton and a guy in Vancouver! Doing the auditions in the malls and on the weekends was an awesome idea. It makes the opportunity so much more accessible to Idol hopefuls.
On the community front I spoke at Rick Hansen Secondary School yesterday morning in Mississauga to 500 grade 10 students about planning their futures with ultimate satisfaction and happiness as the goal. Then I did a smaller session with 50 kids who were considered "at risk". I get so much out of visiting schools and staying connected with young movers and shakers.
I had three kids sing in front of their school who had never done that before and the response was bananas!
